Hello everyone, I invite you today for a quick tour in Ola’s apartment:) I hope that you will find some time, for a good coffee and another dose of interior design inspirations 🙂
Few words from Ola…
I am 36 years old and I am a mother of two girls. 1.5 years ago, we moved from New York to my hometown Warsaw. I am currently looking for a job, and every day I take care of my daughters, decorating our home enjoying my hobby: interior design and fashion.
How long have you been working on your apartment decor?
I am improving it all the time. We have been living here for several months and I am still arranging and renovating.
Where did you get your inspiration from?
Most of my visions I invented myself. I don’t deny, that I love to search for inspirations in interior design magazines or in the internet, but even when I use something from there, I always personalize it.
What do you like the most in your apartment?
Cosiness, bright colors and my plants. Despite of the large amount of white and gray, which I love, I tried to create cozy atmosphere in our apartment. I also love my vintage decor, which I took from my grandfather’s basement (like an old telephone, bag / newspaper or windmill). I am also waiting for my old console revovation – it will be the lovely change in my living room.
Is there anything you would like to change?
I change something all the time. I become bored quickly, so I couldn’t survive without rearranging things. I am also waiting for the summer to finally renovate our bathroom.
What advice would you give to those of us who have just picked up the keys to their desired apartment and have no idea where to start?
Do not follow trends blindly. Listen to yourself, write down those things you like the most and which are necessary for you. Start with neutral colors, they match everything and will never go out of style.
What are your favorite home decor stores?
I don’t have the one favorite, but I am going everywhere where you can buy something for home. One of my favorites are: H&M Home, Ikea and TK Maxx, but I also visit stores, where you can find cool decorations for little money (Pepco, KiK, even Biedronka), of course, I am also searching things in grandparent’s basement. Now, when it gets warm, I will also visit some flea markets.
